Underwater rooms on the Great Barrier Reef itself

Australia's only underwater hotel rooms: two glass-walled suites four metres below the waterline of the Reefworld pontoon, moored at Hardy Reef on the outer Great Barrier Reef. When the last day boat leaves mid-afternoon, overnight guests get the reef to themselves — snorkel safari, dinner under the stars, and fish drifting past the bed all night. The catch: Just two suites, from ~A$1,495 per person for a one-night pontoon stay — and the long offshore crossing is at the weather's mercy.
